In the remote Rocky Mountains, lives depend on the Search & Rescue brotherhood. But in a place this far off the map, trust is hard to come by and secrets can be murder…
It’s all come down to this…
Daisy Little has lived in agoraphobic terror for over eight years. Trapped within a prison of her own making, she watches time pass through her bedroom window. Daisy knows she’ll never be a part of the world…until the day she becomes the sole witness of a terrible crime that may finally tear the Search and Rescue brotherhood apart for good.
Titles in this series include: Hold Your Breath – Fan The Flames – Gone Too Deep – In Safe Hands
It’s always a bittersweet moment when I come to the final story in a series. The Search & Rescue series has delivered some amazing characters to love, a chilling crime, an intense search for the villain and a shockingly surprising reveal in the third book… to say that this series has been powerfully engaging and satisfying is a vast understatement – and I’m going to miss these old friends of mine.
Chris and Daisy were amazing as a couple. Chris had been her friend, worried about her, watched over her and the transition to love flowed so easily. Daisy had been through something so shattering that it robbed her of the ability to leave the safety of her home. Yet with Chris’ help and determination to help solve the murders and understand what exactly it was that she saw, Daisy will find strengths that she never imagined she had.
It was eerily surreal to know who the very bad guy was and watch him interact quite normally with those who were desperately trying to find… well, him. My reaction was somewhat like watching really bad horror movies where you’ll shout out “No don’t open that door – Don’t go into the cellar alone”. You know the feeling. That was very prominent until everyone finally knew what this snake in their midst truly was.
I don’t want to give much away. So let me say that this is an incredible ending for a very addictive series. I have loved every moment of my time spent with these couples, both as the main couple focus and as secondary characters. I don’t believe I could have asked for a more compelling and entertaining romantic suspense series. And if you haven’t started this series yet..for goodness sake, start at the very beginning with Hold Your Breath – you cannot miss a moment of this series and get the full impact, in my opinion.
Indeed, all of my favorite characters (everyone) is now finally… In Safe Hands. Thank you to Katie Ruggle for an amazing series.
