Jonah Ranger was restoring an antique 1955 Chevy when he heard a woman’s voice on the car radio pleading for help. She said her name was Alice Davenport, and a man was holding her captive, forcing her into a grueling workout routine so she’d be a proper challenge when he hunted her like big game on his private estate.
As they talked, her voice shifted from the radio to inside Jonah’s head. Born with telepathic abilities, he’d helped Decorah Security rescue kidnap victims, but never had he felt this personal connection to one of them. Calling on psychic resources he didn’t know he possessed, Jonah was able to project himself to Alice’s location, where he could hold her in his arms, touch her, kiss her, and plan.

Let me start this review by saying something important – please, don’t let the fact that Preying Game is the fifteenth entry in the long ongoing Decorah Security series stop you from experiencing an amazing romance. If you haven’t read this series before, it’s really okay to start with this one, I’m pretty sure you’ll be tempted to go back to the beginning after you’ve finished. While there is a general feel to these stories, and at times characters from previous books do wander into scenes – that in no way spoils either this current title or your enjoyment of the entire series if you decide to go back to the start.
Preying Game is a tantalizing and intriguing concept. It’s because of stories like this that Paranormal Romance is always at the top of my book shopping list. While the story isn’t overlong page wise, it does pack a powerful punch of a story line Jonah’s abilities are a joy to experience, and together he and Alice make a satisfying, engaging couple. With one problem seemingly solved, this story continues to give us even more to discover and think about. Yes, I am being rather vague, but I believe with Paranormal Romance reading, not telling, is believing.. in the story.
I was caught up in Preying Game from the first page, and the story never let me down. I was hooked until the final word – and that’s what makes a book great in my opinion.
I would recommend this story and this series to any Paranormal Romance or Romantic Suspense reader. You’ll find interesting stories, engaging couples, danger, sexiness and secondary characters who truly make and matter to the overall story.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
